Privacy Policy
Scope: United States only. VetDisabilityCalc is operated from the United States and intended for U.S. residents. We do not target or solicit users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or other non-U.S. jurisdictions. Visitors outside the U.S. use the site at their own discretion; this policy describes U.S. privacy law compliance only.
This policy describes what VetDisabilityCalc collects and how that data is used. The site is operated independently ("we", "us"). By using the site, you agree to the terms below.
What we do not collect
The combined rating calculator runs entirely in your browser. The ratings, conditions, and dependent information you type into the calculator never leave your device. We do not transmit, store, log, or analyze any input you provide to the calculator. There is no account, no signup, and no email collection associated with using the calculator.
What we do collect
When you visit the site, our hosting provider (Netlify) and our analytics providers receive standard web request data:
- IP address (for hosting / abuse prevention; truncated before storage by our analytics providers per their default settings)
- Browser type, operating system, screen size, and language preference
- The URL you visited and the referring URL
- Approximate geographic region (country and state/region) derived from your IP
- Anonymized session interactions (scroll, click, mouse movement) on a sampled basis — see Microsoft Clarity below
This data is used to measure aggregate traffic, debug broken pages, and improve the site. It is not associated with you personally and is not sold to third parties.
Cookies and third-party services
The site uses the following third-party services. Each sets cookies or stores data per its own privacy policy:
- Google Analytics (GA4). Aggregate traffic analytics. Measurement ID
G-K7FBHRQHWX. IP addresses are anonymized. Google's privacy policy. - Google AdSense. Display advertising (may be enabled in the future). Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your Google Ads Settings.
- Microsoft Clarity. Session replay and heatmaps on a sampled basis. Project ID
wwzr3fpbh3. Clarity captures click positions, scroll depth, mouse movement, and page navigation. Form inputs are masked by default; sensitive form fields are excluded from recording. Data is retained 12 months by Microsoft. Microsoft privacy statement. - Netlify. Static hosting. Server-level access logs are retained by Netlify per their policy.
- Cloudflare. DNS, CDN, and email routing. May set a security cookie. Cloudflare privacy policy.
Your California privacy rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (Cal. Civ. Code §§1798.100 et seq.) gives you the following rights with respect to personal information we hold about you:
- Right to know. Categories of personal information collected, sources, business purpose, and categories of third parties with whom we share information.
- Right to delete. Personal information we hold about you, subject to statutory exceptions.
- Right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing." We do not sell personal information and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by the CCPA.
- Right to non-discrimination. We do not discriminate against users who exercise these rights.
To exercise these rights, email info@vetdisabilitycalc.com with the subject line CCPA request — [know / delete / opt-out]. Include enough information in the body for us to verify your identity (an email address you have used on our site, the approximate date range of your visits). We respond within 45 days of receipt per Cal. Civ. Code §1798.130(a)(2), with a one-time 45-day extension when reasonably necessary.
Browser opt-out signals (GPC)
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a verifiable CCPA opt-out request as required under the California Attorney General's enforcement guidance (Cal. Code Regs. tit. 11, §7025).
Children
The site is intended for adult U.S. residents and addresses adult-only subject matter (VA disability compensation). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, email info@vetdisabilitycalc.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
Material changes to this policy will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. We encourage you to review the policy periodically.
